This weekend we began to clean and polish the chrome rim of the rear wheel. It is important we do this now while the wheel is off the motorcycle because we won't be able to take it off again and give it a thorough clean after the wheel is properly aligned on the bike. First, we cleaned off the dirt from the wheel with a rag and water so we could polish the surface. We then went over the rim with turtle wax. We initially used a buffing drill bit, then went over that with a smaller Dremel polisher. The rim itself is mostly completed to the best of our ability, but we haven't gotten to the spokes yet. We're hoping to be able to finish it off sometime next weekend.

In other news, we ordered a new ignition coil, sub lead wires, and an engine stop button. After further inspection of the sparkplug cap, one of the bike's previous owners wedged a broken piece of a sparkplug in there and the wire connecting the cap to the coil is broken making it pretty useless. Those parts are supposed to come in by this weekend. Hopefully, we can reconduct a spark test for the electrical system soon.
